Based on her bestselling book, Ruby’s show How To Be Human answers every question you’ve ever had about evolution, thoughts, emotions, the body, addictions, relationships, sex, kids, the future and compassion.

We can’t stop the future from arriving, no matter what drugs we’re on. But even if nearly every part of us becomes robotic, mechanical fingers crossed we’ll still have our minds. Hopefully we’ll use them for things like compassion, instead of just chasing what’s ‘better’ like a hamster on a wheel. If we can do that, we’re on the yellow brick road to happiness.

This show is the follow up to Ruby’s sell out shows Sane New World and Frazzled and incorporates what she discovered whilst writing her book.

Outrageously witty and smart, blending brilliant comedy and insightful life lessons, How To Be Human is the show you need to help you upgrade your mind as much as you’ve upgraded your iPhone.

Frazzled Cafe
We live in a time where to have a life crammed to the hilt is considered a success story. But with all this pressure, so many of us have nowhere to go to meet and talk about it. Frazzled Cafe is about people coming together to share their stories, calmly sitting together, stating their case and feeling validated as a result. Feeling heard, to me, has always been half the cure.
— RUBY WAX, OBE

The inspiration for Frazzled Cafe came from our founder and patron Ruby Wax’s experiences during her best-selling book and theatre tours. Ruby encountered thousands of people looking to connect and share their stories and whenever she asked her audiences if they wanted a chance to speak, they always did.

Ruby sensed the real need for a place where people could connect with peer-to-peer support to help cope with the overwhelming stresses of modern life and this is what motivated her to create Frazzled Cafe.

Frazzled Cafe meetings provide a ‘talk-in’ place where people who are feeling frazzled can meet fortnightly to talk and share their personal stories in a safe, anonymous and non-judgmental environment - a place where it's ok, to not be ok.

In line with government guidance we have placed our ‘in person’ meetings held in Marks and Spencer and other partner venues on hold. In their place we will be offering online virtual meetings typically lasting 60 minutes. These will take the format of both larger group forums (up to 50 people) hosted by Ruby Wax, and smaller regular meetings hosted by trained Frazzled Cafe Facilitators that mirror our existing model with a maximum of 12 attendees to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to contribute, if they want to.

Frazzled Cafe meetings are not about therapy or offering solutions. They provide a safe and confidential space where people can simply speak openly without worrying about judgement amongst a group of peers who understand how it feels to be frazzled. What is said in the meetings stays in the meetings and there is never a need to answer “fine” if asked “how are you?”
